"Fantastic hotel, great staff, great service!”

location, staff & services

Fantastic hotel! I was calling around looking for hotels to stay in near Mall of Asia & Sofitel operator by far gave the best cudtomer service i received during my 2 week stay in the philippines & it was all over the phone! Talk about a first impression! I immediately booked the Sofitel Plaza Manila & was not disappointed upon my arrival. A huge luxurious lobby with welcoming hostesses greeted me. Room was clean & comfortable with a balcony & technicians came straight away to assist with the faulty safety deposit box. Staff were attentive & always went above & beyond - they asked the right questions to understand what you wanted. concierge Arti recommended a great Filipino restaurant (Zamboanga) & staff were helpful with transfers & hotel taxis after a less than desirable experience with a local taxi. Hotel has an amazing breakfast selection - by far the best I've seen! Room service is quick & efficient & the hotel has a range of facilities to suit everyone! Luxurious spa treatments at affordable prices, kids play areaS (plural), award winning hair salon & 24hr pharmacy to name a few! For the punters, there is a discreet casino inhouse. Great location near Mall of Asia with complimentary shuttle services available or less than 100 pesos via local taxi. Eateries at the bay is a 5min drive away. Resorts World & airport is also only 20min away, 45min in traffic. TRULY a resort style hotel in the city. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

"Beautiful and relaxing retreat by the bay”

The location by the bay with it's beautiful sunsets was the best feature.
Extras could be really pricey.

We arrived in Manila on Holy Thursday when most places of business were closed for Holy Week and we needed a place to stay where we could still be amused and entertained. The Sofitel Philippine Plaza Hotel definitely fit the bill! With its excellent location by Manila Bay, the palm-filled pool area was a very relaxing retreat. After the beautiful sunset, the area transforms into a celebration of Philippine culture with its folk dance show and sunset buffet of fine Filipino delicacies. One could enjoy the show while dining or while sipping cocktails reclining on over-sized cushions on the grass or while merely swinging gently with the breeze on one of the hammocks nearby. Inside the hotel, your visual sense is filled by the very large lobby overlooking the elegant restaurant below with its stunning spiral staircase. The equally chic cafe/bakery/bar area by the lobby has nightly piano and vocal entertainment. Our 6th-floor room had a view of the bay and the pool area. It was luxuriously appointed with all the necessary conveniences and necessities. Wi-fi access was available for a 24-hour rate plus use of the computers in the business center was available for an hourly rate. All these luxury came at a price as soon as one orders something. For example, we were charged almost $16 for 2 non-alcoholic frozen drinks by the pool. However, if a price-conscious guest keeps these extras to a minimum, this hotel is the perfect getaway.

"Beautiful hotel with stunning pool and view!”

Swimming Pool, View, Location, Food and great staff

i thoroughly enjoyed my 7 night stay at the sofitel philippine plaza manila hotel. i have traveled all over europe from london to the netherlands, germany, lithuania, thailand and finally manila and i have to say this is the most luxurious hotel i have visited during my month long journey. although a little pricier than some of the other hotels in the area it is still a great bargain as i booked through agoda.com. i had a room with both a view of manila bay and the city skyline as well as a perfect view of the incredible swimming pool. it was incredible and i just have to say the food is delicious and affordable for the quality and presentation. i did not eat in the restaurants but constantly ordered room service and it was amazing. you have to try to mango cheesecake and the creme brulee...you will thank me later...i promise. the staff is great and always check on you to make sure all your needs are met. this place was wonderful and if my travels ever bring me back to manila then this is definitely where i will be staying! i have only one bad thing to say and it is minor but could be a major factor some...you have to pay $7.00 per day usd for internet access in a day where even mcdonalds offers free hi speed internet access this is a very poor decision on the part of the hotel. as much as i enjoyed the hotel i have to admit that if i had known this before booking i would not have made the reservation. this is just my personal opinion but to the management i would reconsider your internet policy especially for a hotel in manila with such a higher price point. so that being said i just want to make sure travelers that are tied to their tablets and notebooks take this into consideration. they do i believe offer free wi fi in the lobby area but who wants to trek down to the lobby when you should be able to lounge in the room pajama style with a nice cup of coffee while catching up on the days business at hand.
