Best breakfast of my looong life. Location. Amazing bed.

Wow, so first I'm a 50yo traveller who spends a lot of time in upmarket hotels. I'm not easily impressed, and prefer niche brands like Banyan Tree over the Hyatt/Hilton larger market brands. Add to that, my expectations of Guangzhou were a little trepidatious. So imagine our surprise when we found such a luxery hotel, with simply the best bed I have ever slept in, and the most diverse and extravagant breakfast I have seen anywhere incl Thailand holiday resorts (well done to F&B manager Adam). Seriously, DO NOT SKIP BREAKFAST! Concierge staff were definitely helpful (you need that in China!), and checkin/out was very efficient too. All round, 5/5 on every dimension.

" Good Location, Friendly staff "

One of the best places i have stayed in Guangzhou. Walking distance to Beijing Road. The breakfast buffet had a good selection. I liked the Japanese Restaurant on the 2nd floor. The room was comfortable and cozy. Bed was firm and the pillows were really soft and nice. Except for the hot water in the bathtub not working, my stay would have been perfect. I purposely chose a hotel with a bathtub to soak in it after a long days work. Sadly my rooms bathtub hot water didnt work.

" It is a nice hotel in Guangzhou "

The hotel itself is nice, of perfect location, with good facilities. The room is clean and large enough and with excellent view. I will definitely suggest this hotel to visitors in Guangzhou. Few things for the hotel to be think about which i feel they are not meeting the global standards of the Double Tree by Hilton line : 1. The hair dryer is not working very efficiently. It is noisy but not very powerful. 2. Only 1 set of toiletries (shampoo/bath gel/conditioner) is provided in the room which accommodate 2 persons. And those are really small bottles. 3. I am a bit disappointed when there are not special offers for my birthday during my stay. We have checked with hotel in advance and got a reply "Noted" so I do expect something. I understand that i should not take this for granted but as long as I did get such experience in other Double Tree by Hilton hotels and even local hotels plus a quite positive reply from the hotel I did have some expectation.
